I am officially "over" the NZ chance at oscars news. I think I was over it sometime ago, but I'm just making it official like.
I hope that Peter Jackson wins one of either best director or best picture. If he, and it win more, than huzzah. All 11? Great. None? BAD. But either or will be fine for me thanks, anything more is bonus.
Keisha Castle-Hughes: More power to her. If she wins this is also good.
HOWEVER. The incessant media feeding frenzy over the event is incredibly annoying. Escpecially given our distance from the event. How many interviews with Jackson do we need to see? How many times can they interview Keisha? Especially with such non questions as "how is America?" and "How are you?" I know that in normal conversations people ask these questions because they care, but a TV interviewer (or a magazine, or a radio) is just doing it for the sound bite, so it can show up on the viewers brain. And on and on and on. Just leave it alone people. Find some real news, and or WAIT FOR THE DAMN RESULTS.
BAH.
I won't be watching the ceremony, that is for sure. (I am not bitter, (regarding this specifically) I've just had maximum oscar hype thank you one and all)
