Vidoes And Wallets. What A Super Title. Oh, and Bonus BDO.
Friday, November 17th, 2006A video, for everyone knows all the cool kids link to Youtube. This is a most funky hyper edit (I think he calls it) that takes a guy who can’t play the drums and fakes it :)
Additionally, I think this would work well. Danish hotness. Ben might learn to drive, and Dave will definitely be stopping his car and getting out.
In wallet related news, I’ve been remiss in not updating earlier.
So for once in my life I hadn’t “misplaced” my wallet/things like I normally do. I knew exactly where it had been. It was on top of my bag right by the door out of the office. And then it wasn’t in my bad when I got home. A significant room search and living room and car search later, I drove back to work (after getting another swipe card) and looked where my bag had been. No cigar. So. It had been there, and then it went out the door to my car then to my house. Obviously something went wrong.
Conclusion it fell out of my bag (note previously described as “on top” rather than “in side” ) And that the location of the falling (from my scouting) was probably right outside work. And it was now long gone.
Additional conclusion, someone had picked it up. Hopefully a nice person.
The next day, a woman from the Bus Exchange called and let me know they had my wallet. Woot. So into the bus exchange, and as I drove I tried to figure out how they had my home number, nothing in my wallet would show that. As I walked up to the counter I realised (with the aid of poster prompting) that my MetroCard knows, and that Big Brother was on to me.
However, the woman who handed back my wallet said that there wasn’t a metrocard in my wallet, though everything else was and she had just looked me up on the MetroCard system hoping I might have a card. I initially assumed this meant that she hadn’t looked in the zipped back bit where the swipeable-through-my-wallet bus card and door key live, but no. She was right.
Whoever had found my wallet had thoroughly gone through it, and elected to leave things like my Visa and drivers license… and flog my BUS CARD? Random. So I though, ah well maybe they have ripped me off for like $4 or whatever was on my card. But when the metro people gave (sold for $10) me a new card, they transferred the old balance to the new, and I’m pretty sure that it was similar (or within $2.5) to the old balance. So I dunno what the hell they did with it.
$10 was a fully acceptable price to pay to get my wallet back, I had been rather down about the loss. And then I was surprising excited to get it back… even though it returned me to my initial level of “having my wallet.” An example of needing the lows to feel the highs I guess (well that’s what Mum reckoned)
So that was a good night.
Bonus BDO trivia: Who has won, courtesy of The ROCK, two tickets to the Big Day Out ‘07? Me. Bwaha.
That is all.
