So, it’s almost 4am on a Thursday, and I’m sitting here at work watching various FTP progress meters scroll across my assorted screens, with an ocassional (every 20mins) bit of WOW PvP action.
So, why not blog. Yeah, why not.
To start with Si’s dad took me out for dinner tonight, which was very nice of him. Admittedly, he took out a collection of other people as well, including for example Si’s mum, Si’s Fiance, and assorted other Si’s *. The celebration was called in honour of the graduation of Mr Si. So shibby to him. The occasion was made super special by the inclusion of the ROUND TABLE. Yes, Little India’s much coveted round table was ours for the… er dining. And dine we did. And it was good. And it will be a subtle segue to….
Super duper table that really Sara’s boat should get as soon as possible. Essentially a circular table that through the application of science, some physics, and I’m sure not a small portion of engineering can be expanded (like in the video… go watch it) to double in capacity, but remain a circle. Hmm, ok doesn’t sound to impressive but well I think it is awesome. Si did too, and well Boing Boing for sure. Bonus Boing Boing link of the day: Chew.
Birthday’s have also been celebrated. Dr “there are rumours I’m a doctor, I’m in the same city as the certificate, but I haven’t actually seen it” McG rocked out on Sunday. Sadly without us, as games fell apart in the face of a wedding onslaught. Ben took this as a challenge to HIS powers of ageing and promptly celebrated his the following day. Which we celebrated a bit more.
Wedding onslaught came from the forces of Smith and Schlumpf. More on that “later.” Suffice to say the wedding, (for people always ask) was “good.”
Additional ramblings from the 4:30 blog poster? Why not.
Mum, as she sometimes does, took time out a few days ago to educate me further on comparative shopping. Holding up a box of Cadbury chocolate buttons (or something, cooking – chocolate – cadbury related) up she said she’d been comparing the price of the Cadbury brand name version to the “no-name” brand from Pak n Save and was really surprised by the significant price difference. Until she took the time to study the ingredients. The cocoa solids content from the Cadbury was 40%, while the cheaper one had a massive 12%.
So. Now you know. But yeah, that’s the kind of thing my mum would point out to me :)
Finally, a little video I’m late to the party with, but still rocking out to.
