16 Blocks isn’t a great film.
Yet I’m watching.
[16B] Bruce Willis has just got on top of a car. He has a mustache. Movember is coming, soon I’ll have a mustache.
Talking about tshirts I got me some more Threadless good times. Speciffically:
Looks like single XL might be the go in the future.
Google seems to have S / M / L options for displaying blurbs off their search results. It wasn’t showing up for me at work, but it is at home. Fo sure.
[16B] The black guy whose sole purpose in the film is to survive and make it to the Grand Jury? Yeah – I pretty much wish someone would shoot him in the face. Oh, it’s Mos Def.
People that hate on DST? They can suck it. Walking home last night at 7pm and the sun was shining and it was good. Suffer ye QLD and NTers. I’ve never really been too excited about summer, and it looks like that is because summer in Christchurch is nothing to write home about. Summer in Melbourne? That’s serious business. Already we’re getting some lovely (I appear to be gay) days, and I’m walking around (feeling aaaallright) and I’ve been looking forward to summer for the last month or so. I’m also aware that in about a month and a half I’m going to be walking around in high 30s going WTF it’s HOT. By the end of summer I was doing hockey pre-season training in 37 degree hear. WTH weather. Er, so yeah. Summer – Bring it.
I’m trying to figure out a Christmas holiday mission, but not really moving to swiftly.
[16B] Ah, David Morse, you’re always being given your last chance by a man with a gun to me.
Been listening to the ad for the new iPod Nano and wondering who was singing. At work, when I was working furiously I googled me up the answer (as suspected it wasn’t Kate Nash even though it sounded somewhat like her), gave it a listen and let the flatmates know. They were whelmed. One told me to do some work, and one (Ben) responded in this most excellent fashion:
Speaking of iPods this is how they take over your life I was in bed last night and decided to check the NY Times with my Apple iPod Touch(tm) 32GB 2nd Gen.
They had some article about how the Apple ads are seen as an instant leap into the bigtime for indie bands if you happen to be picked up for one, and they mentioned Chairlift. So I used the iTunes thing to listen to a sample of the Bruises song. That’s some real 21st Century Lifestyle Experience right there folks.
FYI me the music snob judges Bruises to be some fairly run of the mill indie rock with bland electronic flourishes and a detached female vocalist singing a pleasant but overall forgettable melody.
My personal favourite will likely always be Feist’s 1,2,3,4, which is an incredible pop song, and one which I was quite excited to see make it into the aforementioned advertising campaign, if only for the fact I could tell people I was listening to it months before it “broke”.
Hank and Mike. “I will fight you.” One of these bunnies is Dave. Can you pick which one?
[16B] Oh dear. Is Bruce going down in a hail of gunfire? I’ll let you know.
[16B] Bruce did not go down in a hail of gunfire.
Ah yes, and now let me quote Tycho. Who writes like awesome (on the topic of Gamer Grub (related comic here):
A comparison to Mana Potion is instructive: mana potions are magical energy drinks, so an energy drink called a “mana potion” is internally consistent. In the case of Gamer Grub, its twisted progenitor has named each regrettable salvo after both a flavor and a genre, in a suite of tin-eared constructions that I couldn’t even parse at first. “Action Pizza” is incoherent. “Sports PB&J” is nonsensical. The words “Strategy Chocolate” go together like caramel and genocide.
[16B] I just don’t care to watch the remaining 30 minutes of this film. How can there be 30 minutes to go? The bus scene was inherently climactic no? (I am weak, so I’m taping it to find out (and I only read those magazines for the articles.))
Mog has an iPhone. So does Mary. Si probably has one in a box awaiting his contract’s expiry. I want one too.
Good luck in space…

Go Movember.
I am considering growing out my eyebrows in solidarity with my moustachioed bros.
